Dear Prof Chhokar,

Read your write-up and liked it immensely. The dedication and sincerity in cleansing the political system in India, is worth appreciation.

I however, feel, very few people, let alone Judges, know about the political system in India.

Essentially a republican democracy. Its my very strong believe based on my study and deep understanding of the Constitution of India and its making that "Political Parties (hereinafter PP for short)" have nothing to do with Elections and also with setting up candidates for Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

At the maximum, I am ready to accept the PP's as opinion making bodies for citizens.

Its the citizen and citizen alone which has got the qualification to get into Lok Saha and Rajya Sabha as per the constitutional check and balance and certainly the PP's don't pass the muster on the constitutional touch-stone. Kindly refer to Art 84 (the Qualification for membership of Parliament), Art 99 (Oath or affirmation by members) & Art 100 (Voting in house, power of house to act notwithstanding vacancies and quorum).

The PP are not constitutionally allowed to exist and function inside the Parliament, notwithstanding the 10th Schedule of the Indian Constitution.

We must understand the system to fight the menace of political corruption and try to decriminalization the nation.

I am open for a debate with you. Let me know a time and place. Will be my honor!

Thanks,
Adv DN Tripathi
